Reliance Jio Launches Affordable 4G Feature Phones JioBharat V3 and V4 at IMC 2024

At the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024, Reliance Jio unveiled its latest 4G feature phones, JioBharat V3 and JioBharat V4, designed to provide affordable 4G services to India’s 2G users. With this launch, Reliance Jio aims to ensure that users still relying on 2G networks can now transition to 4G at an affordable price. These new phones not only offer basic connectivity but also come with a suite of Jio services, including UPI payments via JioPay, live TV streaming, and unlimited voice calling with select recharge plans.

JioBharat V3 and V4: Pricing in India

The JioBharat V3 and JioBharat V4 feature phones have been competitively priced to appeal to budget-conscious consumers. The starting price for both models is set at Rs. 1,099. This makes them among the most affordable 4G feature phones on the market. Reliance Jio has confirmed that the phones will soon be available for purchase through multiple channels, including Amazon, JioMart, and offline retail stores across the country.

Additionally, Reliance Jio offers an affordable Rs. 123 per month prepaid recharge plan, which provides users with unlimited voice calling and 14GB of data per month. This plan is designed to complement the low-cost handsets, making 4G services accessible to a wider audience.

Key Features of JioBharat V3 and V4

Both the JioBharat V3 and V4 are built upon the success of their predecessor, the JioBharat V2, launched in 2023. While the V2 was aimed at offering basic 4G functionality, the V3 and V4 models bring enhanced features and improved usability.

Design and Usability:

The JioBharat V3 is positioned as a style-centric option, appealing to users who prioritize design. In contrast, the JioBharat V4 focuses on usability, offering a more practical and functional design.

Battery and Storage:

Both models are equipped with a 1,000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting performance on a single charge, which is especially crucial for feature phone users. Additionally, both phones offer expandable storage of up to 128GB, allowing users to store more photos, music, and other media.

Language Support:

The phones cater to a diverse audience by supporting 23 Indian languages, ensuring that users from various regions can comfortably use the phones in their preferred language.

JioTV and Jio Cinema:

One of the standout features of the JioBharat V3 and V4 is access to JioTV, allowing users to stream over 455 live TV channels, spanning entertainment, kids’ content, and news. The phones also provide access to the Jio Cinema library, which features a vast collection of shows and movies, making it a great option for those seeking entertainment on the go.

JioChat Integration:

JioChat is another notable addition, enabling users to stay connected with their loved ones through unlimited voice messaging, photo sharing, and group messaging options. This integration ensures that users can enjoy modern communication features on an affordable feature phone.

JioPay: UPI Integration and Soundbox Feature

One of the major innovations in the JioBharat V3 and V4 is the inclusion of JioPay with UPI integration. This allows users to make digital payments easily, even on a basic feature phone. With UPI becoming the primary method of digital payments in India, this feature empowers even those who may not own a smartphone to participate in the country’s growing digital economy.

Additionally, the phones come with an in-built soundbox feature, which is capable of reading out transaction details aloud. This feature can be particularly useful for small business owners or users who want audible confirmation of their transactions, adding a layer of convenience and accessibility to the phones.

Reliance Jio’s launch of the JioBharat V3 and V4 is part of the company’s broader mission to bring affordable 4G services to India’s 2G users. With millions of people in India still using 2G networks, these phones provide an affordable and feature-rich alternative that enables users to experience 4G connectivity, digital payments, live TV streaming, and more at a fraction of the cost of traditional smartphones.

By combining affordability with essential digital services, Reliance Jio is not just selling phones but enabling digital inclusion. The introduction of UPI payments, live TV, and a rich entertainment library on such affordable devices marks a significant shift in how feature phones are perceived and used.
